Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Convert2Content (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use https://convert2content.com. It is written for store owners who convert a WooCommerce product CSV into a Shopify import file, and for visitors who land on the site through search or ads.

The short version

• Your product CSV is read and converted in your browser. We do not upload it, store it, or put it in a database.
• We use Google AdSense to show ads. Google may use cookies and similar technologies for advertising.
• We use Google Analytics to understand how people use the site. Analytics does not receive your product CSV.
• There are no accounts and no mailing list.

Who we are

Convert2Content is an independent web utility. It is not affiliated with Shopify, WooCommerce, WordPress, Automattic, or Google. Contact: hello@convert2content.com.

Product files stay on your device

When you choose a CSV, your browser reads the file with local code running on this page. The Shopify file is built in the same tab and downloaded from your browser. We do not receive the rows, product names, prices, SKUs, barcodes, image URLs, or any other catalog content. Closing or refreshing the page clears that working copy. The converter does not write your CSV to local storage, cookies, or a server database.

Image URLs that appear in a conversion stay in the file you download. Shopify later fetches those images from the URLs during import. That download is between Shopify and the host of those images, not between your catalog and Convert2Content.

Information collected when you visit the site

Loading any page is an ordinary web request. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address, date and time, browser type, referring URL, and the page requested. Those logs are about the visit. They are not a copy of your product file.

A theme preference (light or dark mode) may be saved in your browser’s local storage so the site can open with the same preference next time. That preference is not tied to a product catalog.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to serve ads, measure how ads perform, and, where allowed, show personalized ads based on your interests and prior visits to this or other websites.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info. You can also manage cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may limit some site features or how ads are shown.

In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, Google may show a consent message before using certain cookies or personalizing ads. Your choices in that message control what Google is allowed to do for advertising on this site.

Ad networks do not receive your product CSV, because that file never leaves your browser for conversion.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use Convert2Content, such as which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics may set cookies or use similar technologies and may process IP addresses and device information on Google’s systems.

Google’s explanation of Analytics data is in the Google Privacy Policy and Google Analytics data safety materials. You can limit Analytics with browser add-ons such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on where available.

Analytics does not receive the contents of your product CSV.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Similar technologies include local storage and pixels. On Convert2Content you may encounter:

• Theme preference — local storage used by this site so light or dark mode can persist.
• Advertising cookies — set by Google AdSense and partners to show and measure ads, and where allowed to personalize them.
• Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure traffic and usage.
• Hosting and security logs — not cookies, but ordinary server records of requests to the site.

The product converter itself does not need advertising or analytics cookies to run. You can convert a file with third-party cookies blocked, though ads and measurement may not work as intended.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where data protection laws require a legal basis, we rely on: (1) your consent for non-essential cookies and personalized advertising where a consent tool asks for it; (2) legitimate interests in operating, securing, and understanding use of a free website, balanced against your rights; and (3) steps needed to provide the conversion tool you choose to run in your browser. You can withdraw consent for advertising personalization through Google’s tools and any consent message shown on the site.

Children

Convert2Content is aimed at adults who run online stores. It is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through advertising or analytics partners, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to address it with the relevant provider.

Accounts and marketing lists

There are no user accounts, paid plans, or email marketing lists on this site. There is nothing to register for, export as a “data download,” or delete as an account profile. For advertising and analytics data held by Google, use Google’s own account and privacy tools.

Retention

We do not retain product CSVs. Hosting logs are kept only as long as needed for security and operations, according to our host’s practices. Google sets its own retention for AdSense and Analytics data under Google’s policies.

International transfers

Our host and Google may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, those providers use contractual or other safeguards described in their own privacy documentation.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not store product files or account profiles, many requests will relate to data held by Google (ads and analytics) or our host’s logs. Email hello@convert2content.com and we will help where we can, or point you to the right provider.

Third-party sites

This site links to documentation from WooCommerce, Shopify, Google, and others. Their privacy practices are their own. Using those sites is governed by their policies.

Changes

We may update this policy when the site, advertising, or analytics setup changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you should read the new version.
