Built for the awkward exports

Most catalogs are not a perfect WooCommerce sample. Convert2Content looks at the header row, then lets you override any field before you download.

Export styles

Native WooCommerce product export, WebToffee column names such as post_title and parent_sku, and common WP All Export headers. Semicolon files from European Excel, tab-separated files, and UTF-16 spreadsheets are read as well.

SEO, brands, and barcodes

Yoast, Rank Math, and All in One SEO titles and descriptions are mapped, and template tags such as %%title%% are removed. Brand columns become the vendor. GTIN, UPC, EAN, and ISBN become the barcode. Cost of goods becomes cost per item when the column is present.

Variants and extra attributes

Variable products and their variations become Shopify option rows. Shopify allows three options. Further options are combined into the third so variants stay unique. Attributes that are only product details, plus dimensions, can go into the description or the tags.

Prices, stock, and weight

A sale price becomes the current price and the regular price becomes compare-at. Comma decimals are converted. Stock is tracked when WooCommerce was tracking it, and out-of-stock items are set to zero. Weight columns named in kg, g, lb, or oz are converted to grams.

Questions

Does Convert2Content upload my product file?

No. The CSV is read in your browser and the Shopify file is built there. Refresh the page and it is gone. There is no account and no product database.

Is it free?

Yes. The converter is free. The site shows ads from Google AdSense. Ads do not receive your product file, because that file never leaves your browser. See the Privacy Policy for cookies and advertising choices.

Do you use cookies or analytics?

Yes for advertising through Google AdSense, and optionally Google Analytics if it is enabled on the site. A light or dark theme preference may also be saved in your browser. None of that includes your product CSV. Details and opt-out links are on the Privacy Policy page.

Will the products go live on Shopify immediately?

Not with the default setting. Every product is written as a draft. After import, open Products in Shopify and filter by Draft. You can switch the converter to match the published status from WooCommerce if you want live products to stay live.

Do variable products work?

Yes. Variation rows are grouped under the parent product. Shopify’s CSV allows three options, such as size, color, and material. If a product has more than three, the extra options are combined into the third so the variants stay distinct.

What happens to images?

The file keeps the image URLs. During import, Shopify downloads each one. The WooCommerce site has to stay online until that finishes, and the links have to be public. Photos that exist only on your computer are not included in a WooCommerce product export.

Which plugins and export styles are recognized?

The native WooCommerce product exporter, WebToffee, and common WP All Export column names. SEO titles and descriptions from Yoast, Rank Math, and All in One SEO. Brand columns. GTIN, UPC, EAN, and ISBN. Cost of goods from the usual WooCommerce cost plugins. If a column is not recognized, map it yourself on the Columns tab.

My Excel file uses semicolons and comma decimals.

That is a normal European Excel export. The converter detects semicolons, tabs, and comma decimals, so 12,50 becomes 12.50. It also reads UTF-16 files that Excel sometimes saves.

Will this move orders, customers, or reviews?

No. This converts a product CSV only. Orders, customers, reviews, coupons, pages, and blog posts are not in a WooCommerce product export.

What does not transfer?

Downloadable files, subscription billing, product add-ons, upsells, cross-sells, grouped product links, shipping classes, tax classes, and sale start or end dates. Prices, stock, variants, categories, tags, brands, barcodes, weight, cost, and SEO fields do transfer when they are present in the export.
